Narrative

When looking at narrative you have to think, how is your story being told, is it a voice over, are you using conotations or denotations? if conotations how do you know that the audience knows what your taking about, you can look at the equilibrium theory where a story is made over several key steps. These are the normal start, conflict, hero try to solve then conclusion back to normal. You can also see the characters used in the media as several roles, stereotypically hero villain the maid marian .

This music video is the best i know that has a real structure and narrative behind it, it starts with these two friends shown riding bikes signifying freedom then they seems to stop at the crossroads which signifies the leap after school, the true split in their later life, one man picks the road with a dove the other one with a big black c which im guessing is the corporate route. You then see the conflicting routes. At the end you see how government corruption and the link to the large corporates that take over.

Media lang

Through the media language we get to understand what makes is see it as the future and why. Just the first scene we are presented with what we would see now a days as high tech gadgets like finger print scanners, dna scanners and interactive doors. This would instantly makes us think that in the future the high tech of today will be an everyday occurrence . Later in the film we are presented in the truth that later in life out body will be used against us, in this film we see the girls hair being used once it touches the wall they know where she is.

Postmodernism

We where shown this video in lesson, i find it very useful in portraying the true definition of post modernism it is a lot more specific and straight to the point compared to my previous video which was vary wishy washy in its definition and a bit hectic with its cuts.

Independent research

I dont know if its just the editing used in this video but from it i see that the real definition of postmodernism is very open to the view of the speaker, some see it about suppression, conspiracy and most people just dont know.
Due to be being a phrase about time you need to know what time it is, it could be talking about today, yesterday, 20 years ago its a continuous terms with no real definition or definers.

Luther

Everyone's favorite police officer is back, Luther played by Idris Elba is coming back to tv on the 2nd of july 2013, written by Neil Cross and produced by Katie Swinden for the bbc.

Luther is an amazing character, who has illustrated top the public that behind the uniform police wear there is a person. Luther is not the typical cop that is portrayed in the media ( flawless or corrupt) Luther is a cop with multiple flaws, his most noticeable and more prevalent in the past has been his inability to let go of his ex wife.  The acting is so flawless that in 2012 ( last season) Idris Elba won the golden globe for best actor on tv.
